1 tbsp | oil |
---|---|
1 lb | ground chicken |
1 | yellow onion, diced |
1 | garlic clove, minced |
1 tsp | grated fresh ginger |
3 tbsp | hoisin sauce |
2 tbsp | tamari |
2 tbsp | rice vinegar |
1 tsp | sesame oil |
1/2 tsp | red pepper flakes |
1 cup | matchstick carrot |
2 | green onions, sliced |
12 | bibb lettuce leaves |
1/2 tsp | sesame seeds |
In a large pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook, breaking it up with the side of a spoon until it is no longer pink, about 5 to 6 minutes. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until it begins to soften, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger and cook until they become fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the hoisin sauce, tamari, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Add the carrots and green onions and continue to cook until the carrots are heated through, about 1 to 2 minutes.
Spoon some of the mixture into each lettuce leaf and top with the sesame seeds.
Serve immediately. Store the filling in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
