Ingredients

1/4 cup
soy sauce
2 tbsp
hoisin sauce
1 tbsp
brown sugar
1 tsp
sesame oil
1
garlic clove, minced
1 tsp
grated fresh ginger
1/4 tsp
red pepper flakes
1 tbsp
oil
2
boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch strips
8 oz
chow mein noodles
3 cups
broccoli florets
1 cup
matchstick carrots
1
red bell pepper, diced
2
green onions, thinly sliced
1 tsp
sesame seeds
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set it aside.

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Arrange the chicken in the pan in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until the chicken begins to brown, about 4 to 5 minutes. Flip the chicken and continue to cook until the remaining side is golden.

While the chicken is cooking, in a large pot of boiling water, cook the noodles according to package directions. Add the broccoli to the pot for the last 3 minutes of cooking.

While the noodles are cooking, add the carrots and bell peppers to the cooking chicken. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften, about 1 minute.

Drain the excess water from the cooked noodles and broccoli, and transfer them to the skillet. Pour the sauce on top and cook, stirring constantly, until everything is well coated, about 1 to 2 minutes.

Serve immediately topped with the green onions and sesame seeds. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
